Santa MCSOIt's been a long time now, since a Maricopa County Deputy Sheriff, working an unincorporated area north west of Phoenix decided to help some kids go to the nearby lake for a summer weekend. What that one Deputy Sheriff had grown into an organization called "Cops Who Care." Not just deputy sheriffs now, it is made up of officers and deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Arizona Highway Patrol, Wickenburg Police Department, Wickenburg Fire Department, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office, Maricopa County Probation, the Surprise Police Department, retired officers from other agencies and civilians.
What started as a way of getting some kids to the lake for a day has grown into an Easter Egg Hunt, a Game time at the Fourth of July Fireworks, funding for drug awareness programs, school supply funding, sports events, teen dances and events, and a very special Christmas time for some kids who might not have had much of a Christmas.

NEWS

Cops Who Care thanks all the volunteers and businesses and individuals who donated to make our 2007 Christmas program a success!

Dan and ChildChristmas is where Cops Who Care's focus their most energy with a fund raiser to buy new toys through subscriptions, and donations from supporters like you. Last year was a joyous success for Cops Who Care, but costs keep rising, and Santa's list gets longer and longer every year. Please help in supporting these officers and friends in making this coming Christmas an even bigger and better one for the children. A rather gruff old retired cop who plays Santa every year once said that the reward he got from this was the wondrous look he would get from the kids waiting to see him, the way that look would light up their faces and turn into joy when he waved at them to let them know Santa recognized them, and the smiles and hugs the little ones would give him when they climbed on the lap of Santa. Please help us light up the face of another one of these kids.
